The Tear-n Tan Files are stories about art, fashion, music, and travel. I’ve been capturing images since a child and after earning photography degrees at both Pasadena City College and the School of Visual Arts I began my career in the photo industry.
This website is now showcasing the art I create, traditionally and digitally. I work with oil, acrylic, pen, ink, graphite, and on the iPad Pro.
My intent for this blog is to post quality content that is meaningful to my readers. I hope to share with you information that you will either enjoy or find useful.
I am available for commissions. If you are interested in a digital or painted portrait or an animation/motion graphics project please feel free to contact me at:

Hi, nice to meet you !
Hi, I found your blog through a search for a vintage 1960’s Laurence Kazan sequined dress. I found it at a local thrift store in northern Michigan. It has a tag that says Laurence…the rest is torn off. I was searching on the web and saw the picture you posted from the NYC Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show. Here is the link:

As soon as I saw this picture I knew it was designed by the same person. It is the same type dress with many colors of sequins. There is a letter R and a guitar on the dress completely made out of sequins.
Your picture is the only thing I can find on the web that I know absolutely was the same designer. I would love to find more info on this dress and designer. I can send pictures. If you can help me or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks, Terry
You may want to contact Town Peddlers, they were the vendor that had the dress. Good luck on your dress search Terry!
You should also contact the company who did the Clothing show. They can probably send you info about the vendor who had the Laurence Kazan dress. Here’s the link: http://www.manhattanvintage.com/vip.shtm
