The Museum of the City of New York (located on Fifth Avenue and 103rd Street in Harlem) is featuring a bevy of glamorous gowns/attire and luminous jewelry from last century in their current exhibition, Notorious and Notable: 20th Century Women of Style. That’s right, last century, aka the 1900s. It’s hard to believe these beautiful creations came from the other side of the 00s, when it seems so far away, yet it really wasn’t.
From the iconic Jackie O to the talented Lena Horne, the showcase of 1900’s fashion highlights 80 prominent New Yorkers. Were you there to remember it? Most definitely!
Our correspondent, Chet Awer, was on the scene and captured some beautiful pieces for us to behold and covet. Below are some of our favorites:
This exhibit runs til January 2, 2011 so get out there before the weather chills to temps so frigid that you couldn’t even fathom wearing one of these gorgeous ensembs!
