CMJ Music Marathon has come upon NYC once again. With a flurry of international bands to choose from, how does one decide which gigs to go to? I usually have a sched made out, but sometimes, something better comes up. I had the pleasure of being one of only a handful of punters in the audience at Ace of Clubs for Newcastle, England’s Viva City. This is a band I am super excited about, as their dance-worthy, yet intense sound just made you long for that “Less Than Zero” era. I do believe they play again this Saturday at 11 pm at the Bowery Poetry Club (308 Bowery. Between Houston and Bleecker, NYC)
