Building an Igloo

Today I went over to a friend’s house to play in virgin snow.  It was awesome!  We started flopping backwards, making snow angels, then flopped face first, and squirmed in the snow.  It was like falling into marshmallows.

 

We then decided to build a snowman.  As we started building, I realized that I was really bad at making a snowman.  So I just decided to build a wall.  As I started building a wall, I got the idea to build an igloo.  All of a sudden, my friend and I were on a mission to build this igloo.  With bread pan in hand, she made bricks of snow as I started pounding and padding the snow bricks.  After 2 hours, our igloo was completed.  Here are some images and a short movie (1.5 minutes) I made.

If you ever want a good workout, forget about the gym…build an igloo!

My friend’s snowman is in the background.  Not bad.  That lump of snow just to the right was my sorry attempt at a snowman.

 

Sideview.  Forgot to make the little front structure that sticks out, but we realized we probably would not be able to get inside if we did build it.

 

 

2 hours of hard work.  Sooooooo worth it!
