Coney Island, the Day Before Hurricane Irene, 26 August 2011

Since Hurricane Irene was planning on hitting the coast this weekend, I decided to hit the coast a day before.  Coney Island, Brooklyn, with it’s long stretches of sand, famous boardwalk, and now crazy modernized rides, was a rather pleasant experience one day before Irene was set to land.

Walking on the pier, I got a chance to catch some people fishing.  Some used fishing poles, some used nets.  They all seemed to have caught only small fishes.  I guess trout don’t swim in the ocean.  😉

Under the pier I got some shots of vanishing points, geometry, beautiful lighting and a gorgeous muddy green color.
