Mercedes Benz Fashion Week began this week with shows galore at Lincoln Center as well as some off site locations. Some designers showcased their collection via a presentation, where models stood on platforms allowing the visitors to easily photograph them. This is such a great idea, as one could easily get close-up detail shots of some pieces as well as get some focused shots. Just be prepared as it can get extremely crowded and you may accidentally step into somebody’s photo or vice versa.
First presentation I caught was Concept Korea, a fashion collective showcasing works by Korean designers Doho, Lie Sang Bong, RESURRECTION, Son Jung Wan, and Steve J & Yoni P. Unfortunately by the time I got in, I was only able to get shots of Lie Sang Bong and Steve J & Yoni P.

Later in the day Katya Leonovich presented her painting inspired women’s collection with some girlie, feminine pieces, as well as some vixen-esque leather pieces.

Aside from these posed showcases were the always exciting shows. This time I had a chance to watch designer Bumsuk Choi present his menswear line General Idea. Lot’s of patches, high ankled pants, and yummy sweaters. Did I mention, there were no skinny jeans? Video coming soon…
