Copenhagen, Denmark band Ocean View played the Cake Shop last night in New York City.
There’s really not much info on these garage punk Danes other than they formed in 2011, belong to The Big Oil Recording Company’s label, and fashionable outerwear and high cheekbones are mandatory for band membership.
You can dance to them, or you can just stare at them. Guess what I did?
Well, this is a band I’d pay to see again, but only at a certain price. I’m not quite ready to shell out a twenty for them, but perhaps at a $10-12 ticket, I would attend. Honestly, I think it was the late start, that’s tainted my opinion of them. The first band took forever to set up, so that just put me in a foul mood. After that, all I really cared about was whether or not I’d be able to catch the M train in time, since it doesn’t run late nights.
You can take a listen to them here, I think you’ll enjoy them.
Perhaps I need a do-over with Ocean View. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it.
Cheekbones…
