American designer Richard Chai presented his Spring 2014 Richard Chai Love and Richard Chai Men’s collection today at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City.
While keeping the brightness of Spring whites and bright bold prints in the mix, Chai also utilizes Autumnal staple hues and patterns as well as black for Winter thus creating a collection that’s really an all-rounder and not just a Spring collection.
The ubiquitous use of pattern mixing was there, but was not a main feature, and my favorite feature was present…the wide leg pants. Blazers and leather jackets were also in the collection, and I’m glad to see that trousers are baggy or relaxed, and not skinny jeans. Blouses ranged from crop to tunic length, making it accessible for all women.
This was quite a collection and really well thought out as a year round collection, and not just suited for one particular season.
