Hailing from Iran, The Yellow Dogs story is quite interesting. Their use of westernized instruments and subject matter prompted the Iranian government to deem their music illegal. Years later the band have settled in Brooklyn and have been playing a handful of shows, including Wednesday night’s gig at Brooklyn Bowl.
Their use of funk heavy basslines make their music quite danceable, and the guitar work of Soroush Farazmand really adds quite nicely to their tunes alot.
This mid-week show was just what one needed to get you back to work on Thursday.

Here’s a video of their newest song, which at the moment does not have a title. Enjoy!
Watching this makes me so sad. I had always wanted to see them. RIP.
