Dead Gaze and The Mystery Lights performed Friday night at the Seaport Music Festival at the South Street Seaport.
The Mystery Lights were so good, with their 60s sound influenced by iconic bands as The Kinks, Small Faces, The Who, etc…Mods of the world unite!
The onstage energy was plentiful. I think I stayed in the pit for the full set. ‘What Happens When You Turn The Devil Down’ what can I say but…WOW! This song is amazing. (Incoherent utterance)
Dead Gaze were brilliant with their vibrant guitars, catchy melodies and abundant hair full of luscious waves. Some 90s influences hair…I mean here, possibly a bit of Anglophilia? I sensed some 90s Ash there as well, maybe???
Both bands were great, and the audience was fun to watch, including the dapper gentleman who sat in a deck chair during the show. And the two guys in the front who kept pointing at the band every 10-15 seconds…what were they pointing at? Nevertheless, I was amused.
If you get the chance to check out these two bands, I highly recommend them.
