UK’s Yuck and US’s U.S. Girls performed at the final Hudson RiverRocks show of the summer at Pier 84 in New York City.
Performing second were UK’s Yuck, where lead singer Max Bloom at one point tried an American accent, a Valley accent actually. I’m not quite sold, but it was amusing. I can definitely hear the 90s in their music. I heard some definite Ash influences as well. And the best outfit for the night went to bassist Mariko Doi who donned an animal print jumpsuit while perhaps making a studded fanny pack look chic even amongst the rock and roll crowd.
After Yuck’s set, the crowd disappeared in a flash, but eventually did return for U.S. Girls
Last for the night was Meghan Remy’s U.S. Girls. No instruments, just electronics and two back up singers who swayed along. The music wasn’t my thing, but I must say, the Remy shots were my favorite for the night.
Here are the photos from last night.
