Portrait of a Woman – 8×10 Acrylic on Canvas Panel

So in September 2012 I was blogging at Fashion Week.  It was a great experience.  Photographing fashionable, chic, quirky people at this event made me feel like a kid in a candy shop.  There was so much to snap, you couldn’t keep up.  But it was during a slow moment in the afternoon, that I spotted a lady just sitting in the lobby at Lincoln Center.  I had to take her photograph.  Her elegance and simple pose was quite stunning.  There was nothing ostentatious about her.  There was nothing screaming ‘LOOK AT ME!’  It was her content smile, and graceful pose that made her stand out.

When I took up painting, I kept telling myself I would paint that lady’s portrait.  Well, I finally got to it and have just completed a head shot.  Here’s the 8×10 acrylic on canvas panel.  I’m really happy with this one.  Now, I just need to figure out what or who I’m going to paint next.
