Fashion Week is a great way to work on drawings when you need inspiration. When I used to cover the event, I had the chance to photograph the runway shows and presentations. All those years of shooting ended up giving me a vast collection to dig into when I decided I needed to practice more drawing. This was an intense and extremely disciplined assignment I gave myself.
From the 13 drawings below, I created 10 of these 14×17 pencil drawings in the span of 4 days. I averaged about 2.5 drawings a day and was delighted to have completed my 5 day project with one day to spare.
