My latest piece just completed is world-renowned Miranda Priestly…I mean Meryl Streep 🙂 in June 2004 where she attended the AFI Life Achievement Awards honoring Meryl Streep in Los Angeles. Obviously 2004 was before she starred in The Devil Wears Prada with Anne Hathaway. (Ahn-drea…)
Streep at the Awards stepped onto the red carpet in a multi-layered black skirt of tulle, sequin, and lace. She topped her ensemble with a simple white blouse with a wide neckline and accessorized with a pair of Calvin Klein sunglasses, elegant pearl earrings, and a black clutch. She was also carrying a point and shoot Leica camera (no iPhones back then) which she used while on the red carpet.
I really enjoyed painting this piece. I loved painting the skirt’s motion. I think I’ll look into doing more of these full length fashion pieces.
