What could go wrong when this rightie goes leftie?
I got bored and wanted to try something new, so I decided to do a small series of paintings using my left hand. This was an interesting experiment. There’s a lot of hovering in odd positions involved. I’m glad I did it, but I can’t wait to get back to using my right hand.
Give me a week though. I’ve got some Photoshopping to do. Enjoy!

Day 1: First stab at southpaw painting. Left wrist and left shoulder blade felt sore. Went real loose here. If it was going to look bad, I could always claim it was because I was using my left hand. HAH! I’m actually quite happy with this initial attempt. He’s biting his bottom lip, I didn’t forget to paint it. =)

Day 2: Left side not sore anymore, but now right shoulder was aching. Weird.

Day 3, Part 1: First full length. Didn’t like it. Went back the next day to fix her face. I’m still not satisfied with this one.
Kelly Osbourne at Macy’s Passport Teen Night Fundraiser, October 1, 2003 at Santa Monica Airport’s Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
Day 3, Part 2: Had to redeem myself after an unsatisfactory attempt at a full length. Happy with results here. Was freaking out over the hair over the eyes. Didn’t want to mess that part up. By the time I was almost finished with this one, painting with my left hand felt quite natural. I forgot that I was using my non-dominant hand.

Day 4: Final painting and another full length. I loved creating the gown. Didn’t get the face right though, but hey…I was using my left hand!

I am available for commissions, and don’t worry, I’ll use my right hand!
