Portrait of The Cure’s Robert Smith 9X12 Oil on Canvas Paper

Just completed, a portrait of Robert Smith of The Cure taken from the 2013 Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal. That was good year too. New Order, Tricky, and Wild Nothing also performed at the festival.

I haven’t had a chance to go back to Montreal since, but hope to make it out again in the future.

I’ve been looking through my stock and pulling out images of dramatically lit shows. I really enjoyed doing the hair this time. My first attempt at his voluminous locks made Smith look like the Chucky doll from Child’s Play. Add volume! Add volume! That worked!
