YEAAAHHHH!!!! John Varvatos has been showcasing bands at his Soho shop, formerly the famed CBGB. The tiny stage makes for a fun and intimate experience. Long lenses not really necessary, but a wide one is key. Here are some shots from Thursday night’s gig. Lighting is decent, and depending on where the performer stands…dramatic.
If you want to see my favorites, the ones I didn’t post on this blog, check them out on my Photography website:

AND NOW…ONTO
THE MICHAEL MONROE GALLERY…PART DEUX:
Dramatic lighting, with a free hair light!
Not particularly a favorite, but I love the diagonal line.
You may recognize Steve Conte from The New York Dolls, who is also part of the Michael Monroe band.
I don’t know why I like this photo. It looks like he’s being energized or something.
I think this is the part where he was twirling the mic. That always freaks me out!
FINNISH…Because he is. Yeah, yeah I know, I always use the same jokes.
Just want to say what a great blog you got here!
I’ve been around for quite a lot of time, but finally decided to show my appreciation of your work!
Thumbs up, and keep it going!
Cheers
