Last night’s RiverRocks show at Pier 54 had some great performances, in spite of the 20-30 minute long interruption midset due to some technical difficulties during opener Dinosaur Feathers’s performance when their sound went out.  Once the sound returned, the gracious audience gave the Brooklyn band the love they deserved for their fifties inspired, summer-vacation-reminiscing tunes.

The lighting was dark and moody, which added perfectly to their slowly progressing sound, so I had to use my imagination to get some creative shots.  Sometimes the light would hit singer/guitarist Peter Silberman perfectly on the contours of his face, leaving just enough detail to discern an expression.

Openers Dinosaur Feathers had some great lighting.  Of course it was still light out too, so that didn’t hurt.

How many frames did I have to shoot to get the mid-air shot?

During the outage, the guys took a little break.  A sing along would have been nice, but nobody could think of the perfect song.  That was a tough one.
