NYC-Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show Event Continues Today-Sat, 9 Oct 2010

The Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show continues today from 11AM-6PM at Chelsea’s Metropolitan Pavilion at 125 West 18th Street between 6th-7th Ave, Manhattan.  I had a chance to check out the show yesterday and will probably go back today for another look.  With 90 vintage clothing and textile dealers showcasing, one can peruse the aisles and find some amazing, one of a kind pieces.  Here are some of my favorites from yesterday’s trip:

Lawrence Kazan sequin dress (circa 1960s)
Town Peddlers @ Booth #18

Here’s the detailing of the Kazan dress.  Imagine the time that went into making this piece!

Another evening gown (circa 1960s).  I thought it was from the 20s because of the detailing, but it’s from the 60s.

Patricia Jon Spreckelsen @ Booth #34

If you like jewelry, and what woman (or man) doesn’t, check out De Jewels @ Booth #40.  I’m digging that red rectangular pendant on the left.

It’s not all about gold, as you can see there are some colorful pieces, as well.

And what ensemble would be complete without accessories?  Here above is a great set of belts, shoes, and hats from Papushka (info@papushka.com) @ Booth #4

Fret not men, there is menswear!  What Goes Around Comes Around @ Booth #21.  Love the sweaters!  I wanna hug you!

And so the event goes on!  If you purchased your ticket yesterday, it’s good for today’s show as well.  If you signed up for the mailing list, you get a $5 off coupon, which they email you immediately:

And yes, people do dress up for this show.  I thought I was overdoing it with my cheetah print sweater, but there are some wonderfully dressed people (vendors and shoppers) who turn this event into a real retro event.  It felt like traveling back to the 20th century!
