Friday’s Seaport Music Festival opened up with Taiwanese-Canadian artist Dirty Beaches (aka Alex Zhang Hungtai).  With 60s influence throughout (think Doors, Presley, Orbison, etc…) and some intense guitar solos, Hungtai definitely has the talent and look to intrigue.  Vocals are minimal, but when he does sing you won’t really need to guess who he’s trying to emulate.  With a long list of European festival dates coming up, it’s a good thing I had a chance to catch this artist at the Seaport.

Headlining last night was Baltimore’s Lower Dens.  With steady beats and melodic boy/girl harmonies one can just enjoy the lovely evening at the Seaport without getting too sweaty.
