The menswear collection for Spring 2012 was fun and relaxed, as showcased at the Stage at Lincoln Center on Monday during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Lots of muted colors, as well as some bright colors dominated the runway. Slicked back hair is how most of the models do’d and swagger is the new accessory. Or maybe that’s always been in…
Qingqing Wu’s VLOV showcase was inspired by the letter V for it’s shape and simplicity, which was throughout his set with v-neck jackets, simple details, and minimal use of colors. Nothing to outrageous here, but very wearable menswear. Scottish actor Alan Cumming talked a bit about the show as so too did young actress Allie Gonino.
A few hours later, it was the Perry Ellis showcase with John Crocco, designer of this great casual and cool line. Spotted in the packed house was photographer and judge of America’s Next Top Model, Mr. Nigel Barker. Also in attendance at the show were Kelly Bensimon of The Real Housewives of New York, True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello, and Twilight‘s Chaske Spencer of the wolf pack, who talked a bit with PMFB about the show. Fans could not get enough of the two strapping lads and they were extremely gracious in giving photo ops to starry-eyed gals and eager blokes. The show also included some topless models, but you’ll have to wait til the end of the video to see that. 😉
Spring 2012 looks to be a colorful year with stripes and plaids, and lots of shorts with sports jackets and pushed up sleeves. Grey is also in abundance and short sleeve fitted sports jackets are also in the mix. I’m wondering if them skinny jeans will be around as well…
Enjoy the two videos. The first is VLOV and then it’s Perry Ellis.
