Day 1 of Montreal’s Osheaga Festival at Parc Jean Drapeau started off splendidly. All I know is I wanted to be front and center for Franz Ferdinand and I was.
The scorching sun beamed down my now over freckled arms as the distinctive vocals of L.P. started the first set at the Virgin Mobile stage. Then it was time for some Fun. (the band). The crowd around was there mainly for them and emptied out pretty quickly as soon as their set was over.
Radio Radio then stepped on stage with some fun French hip hop. Yes in French, and it sounded cool.
Finally, the awesome Alex, Nick, Bob, and Paul took to the stage doing what they do best. Perform. The guys of Franz Ferdinand were in top form giving us our favorites Take Me Out, Dark of the Matinee, Michael, This Fire, No You Girls, and treated us to Trees and Animals, a new one from their upcoming fourth album. Ahh….they’ve still got it!
Tomorrow, my beloved Jesus and Mary Chain perform. I’ll be ready for you Jim and William!
