Monika Chiang’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection at the Box was inspired by flight. Whether in her dreams or from modern art photography of birds, Chiang’s work is composed of graphic shapes that reflect this idea. Freedom can be conceptualized in various forms. Utilizing different methods from tailoring to coloring to silhouettes is how Chiang expresses this idea.
Chiang’s accessories included stunning pieces from zinc collar gold necklaces to bird designed gold cuffs, as well as clutches, and plaque belts.
The flight jumpsuit in ivory was my favorite piece of the day. It looked so chic yet comfortable. It made me want to slap Alexis Carrington after a swig of cognac. I don’t even know what I’m saying here. It is just a beautiful piece.
