The Pretty Greens Talk Fashion and Do Band Practice – 23 March 2013, Philadelphia – Exclusive!

Once a Go-Go’s tribute band, The Pretty Greens of Brooklyn and Philadelphia have evolved into a 60s/mod-influenced girl garage band, with a sound and style all their own.  From the attitudinal, spunky ‘Overtime’ to the melodic and melancholic ‘Jealous Waves’, Carly, Julia, and Royce have created their own masterpieces.

The Pretty Greens will be releasing an EP in June and I had the awesome opportunity to catch the ladies practice in Carly’s attic, while getting an exclusive listen of 3 new tunes as well.

But what’s my favorite things about bands?  Well, the fashion of course!  Okay the music too, but seriously, I love listening to musicians talk about fashion.  You’d be surprise at how much musicians know about and love discussing fashion.

But it’s not too surprising with The Pretty Greens, especially when their ensemble for a performance is key to their live act.  Fashion is art.  Music is art.  So therefore, fashion is music.  Ok, that doesn’t really make sense, but they’re both of the creative nature.

On this frigid day, we decided to treat ourselves to some ice cream at the Front Street Fountain in Media, Pennsylvania.  With cones and cups in hand, we headed out, found some steps, got comfortable and talked shop.  Fashion shop that is. So, check out this interview of the ladies of The Pretty Greens discussing their style, where they like to shop, find bargains, and their own fashion aspirations.  Paul Weller, Liam Gallagher…pay special attention here!
