John Pena (ex-Beach Fossils) and his band Heavenly Beat play Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn, Monday night.
Somewhat reminiscent of Wild Nothing, Small Black, and former comrades Beach Fossils, Pena uses the guitar to create beautiful melodic pieces worth swaying too. It’s romantic, but not in a cheesy way. It’s breathy and cool at the same time.
