Boots on the Sidewalk in Brooklyn – 8X10 Acrylic and Oil on Canvas Paper

Anybody lose a pair of boots? Here’s my latest piece of a street scene at dusk in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in September 2010.

A sad pair of boots lay discarded on a quiet block as diagonally-positioned yellow construction tubes in the background direct ones sight to these orphans. This is a story one could create in their own imagination. Were these boots tossed after a tiresome walk? A free donation from a generous soul? Dropped from a window out of revenge? Or just carelessly left only to be retrieved after a barefoot walk to a local deli? We can only imagine.

But we hope for second chances, new opportunities, and redemption for this scrappy pair.
