Self Portrait from a Snapchat Gender Swap Filter (Me as a Man) – 18X24 Acrylic on Canvas

Just completed a self portrait…well, sort of self portrait.

The reference image was from a Snapchat gender swap filter that turned a photo of me, a woman, into a man. I thought it was an interesting photo, so I decided to do a painting of it.

The filter gave me stubble and broadened my jawline. It was actually jarring seeing a photo of me as a man. I’m probably not going to be taking a photo with FaceApp. If I freaked out seeing myself as a man, I’d probably faint seeing myself in my 60s. I’ll let time subtly tell me.

So that’s what the male version of me looks like. Could I at least get more facial hair?
