So …made it out to Williamsburg this weekend. 6 stops, 3 trains (2 if the E shows up first), and a 10 minute walk through a park, and I’m there. I love living in Astoria!!! I’m seriously closer to W’Burg now, than when I was living in Brooklyn itself. I just wish that there were some great venues in Astoria. There are a couple of small bars that put on some small shows, but not big enough to get the big”ger” acts. What do you have against Greek food?! Come! You’ll enjoy the casual, non-judgemental vibe and I’ll bake you some non-merryjuana brownies.
Anyways, I’m rambling. I think they call it fluff. Oh well, I mean, okay! So…here we go!
Photos from Sunday’s Pool Party Block Party at Brooklyn Bowl, featuring Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Darlings, and Arpline. The show was early, the front area was relatively roomy, and the music was good. What more could you ask for? $10 bowling. Yeah right!
Ted Leo looking out into the distance to the sound guy before the set. Let’s do this bitches!
I love when pants are way too short-it’s geeky, quirky, ok-able. Shut up! I can make up my own word if I want to!
Darlings. Loved them! They make me nostalgic for my youth, esp. my college years. With perfect boy/girl harmonies and delicious melodies I stopped punching the monitors in front of me. My knuckles hurt now.
Crazy bassist Joe Tirabassi does the hair whip…ALOT!
Though face is out of focus, it does not bother me, because the guitar is in focus.
Arpline with some horrible green lighting. UGH! But occasionally, you’d get some normal lights.
What a perfectly defined jawline. I’m not as envious, cos he’s a dude.
Hey, at least it wasn’t all red lighting. That’s the worstest. Like I said, I’ll make up my own words.
Crazy sax doing some jazz-styled freeform. Du doo doot doot doo doo doo doot…tooooot!
