Astoria, Queens…the next up-and-coming neighborhood. So I’ve heard. With my convenient Canon G10 in hand, set to RAW, I decided to take a stroll down Northern Blvd and Broadway. What’s so great about Astoria? Well, besides the food, I guess some of the architecture. I ended up on a relatively empty street with some beautiful warehouses composed of interesting graphic shapes and lines. Clouds at dusk is the key as well! It was pretty fun getting out and about shooting just for pleasure. I almost forgot what that felt like…

This is one of the main streets I live near. The G10 was not faring too well in low light, but it wasn’t as horrid as I thought it would be.

My favorite shot.

The experience reminded me of college. Setting one day for shooting and another day just for darkroom work. Oh how I miss the smell of fixer! Well now my darkroom is on a computer and it’s almost as satisfying and aggravating! Sometimes images don’t come out the way you want them to, and sometimes they come out way better than you expected. Regardless, I’m just going to have to keep doing more.
Fun, Fun, Fun, with the Canon G10!
