Day 2 of Osheaga in Montreal had a pretty good line up. The sets did not disappoint.
Highlights (in no particular order):
1) Tricky – Shirtless, emotional, and alot of wicked tattoos. He also invited audience members onto the stage, which included a young girl of about age 8ish. I think she may have found her calling.
2) The Heavy – Kelvin Swaby is an excellent frontman. The music is powerful, soulful, and groovy all at the same time.
3) Wild Nothing – What a great way to start off the festival. I wish they had played my favorite song ‘Chinatown’, but I was happy with ‘Nocturne’ which had my favorite lyrics…”You can have me, you can have me…all”. GEEZ!!!! The band also played a new song ‘Ride’, which was quite excellent.
Was hoping to see Frank Ocean, but I guess I didn’t hear about the schedule change. So instead Macklemore & Ryan Lewis came on. I was not going to stand an hour for this, so I ended up sitting on the grass and changed my salonpa patch during this set. Sadly, I left during this set, so I could avoid the mad dash to the exit at the end of the night, which meant…I missed Beck.
Then I went and got a bahn mi at Vua on Saint-Denis.
Enjoy the photos from today. Did I mention, Tricky’s tattoo art is pretty sweet?
New Order on Sunday!
