The Griswolds and SPEAK at Rough Trade, 18 June 2014, Brooklyn

Oz band The Griswolds and Austinites SPEAK performed at Rough Trade Brooklyn Wednesday evening.

If you like dancing, you’ll love both.  The Griswolds have a massive US tour, so do check them out.  With a mix of pop, soul, and indie rock there’s something there for almost everyone.  ‘Heart of a Lion’ is punchy, poppy, upbeat and sounds like it could be in a car commercial.  Maybe it already has.

SPEAK have a few more dates, which is a shame.  They do need to do more touring.  NYC would love to have them back as well.  (HINT HINT.)  According to their Facebook page, influences range from Kanye, Peter Gabriel, and Blur.  Blur…how can you not love them now?  I’m sold.
