Featured Stories – June 2013 Recap


June was a great month, mainly because of the summer season, there were plenty of free outdoor events.  Here’s a selection of my favorite posts, just click on the picture to get the full story:

Music festival season is here and 4Knots was the one to be at.  From music to fashion, it was a blast.  Just happened this past Saturday and the weather cooperated, thank you! 4knots

A night of great Scandinavian bands performed at the tiny Cake Shop, with varying genres from rock to twee, and all quite good.frenchfilms

One of my favorite recent discoveries, and they’re Scottish.  They also have that Nirvana sound, so that’s a big plus.paws

Personally, I think rock royalty was in the house that night.  That’s right, The Zombies played SummerStage.

The final Seaport Music Festival show ended with a superb bang, with two great sets by Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Bass Drum of Death.  Check them out if they play your town.

It wasn’t all about music though.  The Bronx Museum had an amazing Open House with a great performance piece that included sweaty shirtless guys…and art!

And it wasn’t all about events.  Though it did feel like some event trying to get the cronut.  I went again yesterday afternoon, and it was sold out.  Good thing I was there for the apple turnover.  HAH!
